Clark's Father's Day was a memorable one with several highs and lows.. We started the morning off crying our eyes out while watching Meet the Press. Tim Russert will certainly be missed in our household. Following breakfast we took a long drive through the cotton and sorghum fields towards the beach.. We decided to forgo lunch and instead feast on Texas' Blue Bonnet ice cream, then headed for the beach. We were having a lovely time.. The boys were being really adventurous in the water, diving under the waves, popping up only to be smacked with another one, and loving every minute of it, until......... Henry lets out a blood curdling scream! He was grabbing his shorts, and as we lifted him out of the water and jerked off his shorts, I was expecting to see a little crab caught in his shorts.. Then Nelson starts screaming......... And I knew.....JELLYFISH! All around us! It was awful!! We could not get out of the water fast enough and had every beach-goer giving their own best advice... And, no we did not pee on the boys. Someone offered us a bottle of vinegar and we doused them with it and headed for the nearest pharmacy. After about 20 minutes or so, they calmed down and now only show small signs of the unfortunate event. They said they never want to go back to the beach, but we're hoping they will forget what happened. Of course Nelson has never gone back to the park that introduced him to fire ants, so we'll see... Ahhhhhh, the joys of living in Texas!!
