The Class Pet

Believe it or not even South Texas is in the grips of the deep freeze; a deep freeze defined by South Texas standards. As I type this it is 25 degrees outside.  I just went into the backyard to pull in a potted palm tree, which fortunately did survive the evening, however, many of the tropicals in the ground did not. The weatherman is saying snow.  This is exciting stuff.

And, because of the inclement weather, we have a house guest. Her name is Lola. She resides in the boys' kindergarten classroom. She will be staying with us until the cold retreats and we can safely transport her back to her home, which may not be until Monday.  Is she not the cutest thing ever? And, seeing how we have been pet free since July 5th this is quite a treat for all of us.  Even Clark asked me to wake her last night so he could see her run around the house in her exercise ball.
