Stellar Day

We have another Wise Warrior in the house.   On Thursday Henry was called up in front of the school and presented the Wise Warrior award for being the fairest student in the class.

This was not his only honor that day... He was also chosen to hold the American flag and lead the school through the morning singing of the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance. When it came time to recite the Texas pledge he had a bit of the deer-in-the-headlights look, not knowing the words well... I reassured him that it was not his fault.. He's not a Texan.

Our past recipient of the Wise Warrior Award.

Cheers to our Wise Warriors.

Finally, if all of this wasn't exciting enough...

Friday evening the boys joined the varsity boys soccer team and each escorted a player out onto the field before the game. They had on their little jerseys and ran as fast as their little legs would carry them as their chosen player was introduced onto the field. It was quite a moment for their mother in the stands cheering them on...

I can see you having fair children. I've always been pleased that Alex and Valerie had a high sense of fairness.

...a texas pledge? does it oblige allegiance?
