Henry and I and the Wedding
We did it.. We watched the wedding. Live. Henry was the only one that was interested in getting up in the wee morning hours. I awoke at 3:50, 10-minutes before my alarm was set to sound and I went into the boys' room. He was snoring loudly but when I tapped him and asked him if he still wanted to watch the wedding with me he was up and out in a moments time.
I put the coffee on, English muffins in the toasters, juice in the glasses and we watched the wedding. We shared and followed the official program freshly downloaded to the iPad.
I did my best to explain the lineage.. I consider myself somewhat an expert having not missed a royal event in my lifetime and having spent my entire sophomore year of high school in England.
I told him I had watched Prince Charles marry Lady Diana when I was his age.
In which he asked exuberantly, "You were 6-and-a-half?"
"Well, not quite, I was 6."
In which he replied in a not-so-exuberant-tone, "Oh, so you weren't really my age."
At one point Henry asked me why I was speaking in a Harry Potter voice...
"Am I? I didn't even notice." I just can't help it...
Henry didn't quite make it to the end of the ceremony. Making it through the entire procession and the vows, he sacked out about halfway through the boys choir hymn. Then I aroused him, and his brother, for school about an hour later.
Now, if I could have my way, and if the Queen would care for my opinion, I was go ahead and pass the throne to these two newlyweds and skip over the humdrum Charles and husband-stealer Camilla...
But, that's just me...
Happy Royal Wedding Day!

Totally!
We watched it here and there. You guys are troopers for watching it LIVE. I haven't been all that into the royal wedding and am not usually a cryer... but the site of them saying their vows brought TEARS to my eyes. I was shocked!
This is such a funny post! "Oh, so you werent really my age..." ha ha ha
I haven't watched it yet because my daughter isn't home but we have a million versions of it taped for later...
