Road Trip and Nashville

We have returned from a 2 week trip to Clark's homeland. A road trip to defy all road trips. Since arriving in the depths of Texas over 3 years ago we have not left the state by highway since. So with a new-to-us station wagon needing broken in we loaded up on trail mix, electronic entertainment, specially acquired car chargers , and the ever appreciated and coveted Skullcandy, we hit the road...

Our first stop for entertainment was Nashville...

Nashville is amazing.. The food, the music, and the nightlife all of which I would have enjoyed much more about 7 years ago.

After a dinner of prime rib and bar-b-q ribs we wandered the streets of Nashville absorbing the sounds wafting out of venue after venue. Having a couple of minors in our party we were only able to enjoy these sweet sounds from the outside-looking in.
We eventually found ourselves, with aforementioned minors, in a questionable back alley area with questionable establishments and patrons and we quickly realized it was time to retire our weary traveling feet back to the hotel and get rested up for the rest of our journey...

Of note:  I have been a slacker-blogger lately and if you check in regularly I apologize... I will, however, be taking an extended break for a few more weeks. While I took about 10 thousand photos on our road trip the little 'ol MacBook just can't handle a major upload. So until I upgrade the pics will remain in the camera...  But just as soon as they are unleashed, lookout and get ready for a massive photo post.  Cheers!

How enviable! Some of our best memories as a family are of traveling in the car.
