Back in the day...

The boys decided to walk down to the local pool today. It's not a far walk, maybe a half mile or so, but with a heat index dipping into the triple digits, it's a trek for two little guys. Anyway, I thought this was so cute seeing Clark and the boys head off down the road. Back in the day that backpack's been weighted down with a snowboard and shovel with mountains to climb. Today...... it was floaties. Anyway, it was not long after they left on their journey that I was enjoying an unusually quiet Sunday afternoon. Then they called, "the pool's closed, come get us." I pulled into the parking lot, all three were sweating bullets and their heads hung low. I had tossed in my swimsuit and so took the three to a different pool (we are still avoiding the beach--jellyfish, remember). We had loads of fun and besides, I'd prefer a few hours in the pool with my boys then a quiet Sunday afternoon.
