Clark, the boys and I were just in Ohio last week and spent the day with Grandpa on his farm. He and Clark sat at the dining table talking for a good part of an hour. Before we left we walked out into the big barn that has weathered the storms of time, and talked about some of the treasures buried under decades of dust. We found an old cupboard that used to reside in his grandmother's home and is now host to many barn spiders, and a baby bathtub that was used on his children back before they had indoor plumbing. It was an amazing day. I had never truly noticed and felt the beauty of the place that he lived and raised his family, and the place that Clark visited so often growing up. The following pictures are of the farm that Friday in August.

Friday in August
This has been a tough week for Clark and I. We both lost one of our grandparents within 12 hours of each other, one in Ohio and one in New Mexico. This past weekend we drove to Carlsbad, New Mexico and spent several days with my grandfather. He will be 90 in a couple of months and is struggling with the realty of losing his partner of more than 60 years. It is something I do not even comprehend. On our drive to see him we received word that Clark's grandfather in Hillsboro, OH had died of a massive heart attack. We were both understandably overcome by sadness but also distracted by the uncanny timing of both deaths.

Those are amazing pictures. I am sorry to hear about your losses. You have been in my thoughts.
What a special trip that must have been considering what lied ahead. Your photos are awesome. I love all three of the ones with the boys. You are becoming quite a wonderful photographer! So sorry to hear of all of the loss you both are dealing with. It is good that you were able to be with your grand dad. I've been thinking alot about him too. That must be unimaginably tough. Take Care.
Wow Polly Wog, i've got to say those are some awesome pics.. What are you doing different? Did you get a new lense or is it tricky stuff on the apple? Give Clark a big sqeeze for me and you too and the boys..
