Game Day
We've learned, these past few weeks, that Sundays are full-fledged football days here in Texas. The smell of bar-b-q fills the air outside and people gather at each others homes, friends and family alike, to gather 'round the flat screens, while enjoying their beef ribs, slow cooked beans and Dr. Pepper (or Miller Lite). They gather for one team, and one team only.........The Cowboys. I usually take this opportunity to head to my local grocery store, as lines are short, aisles are empty, church crowds have raced home to not miss as much as the kickoff. Today, however, is different. My family will take in the Texas tradition of gathering 'round the flat screen, eating, not beans and bar-b-q, oh no. We will be feasting on Sky Line Chili, Cincinnati style. That's right... Today, the Cowboys will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals, in Dallas. We all have our garb on, and though we dare not step foot out of the house in the garb (and risk being toilette papered, again), we will be cheering on our orange and black. Perhaps the neighbors will hear the slightest of noise when we score, and wonder if it's possible that someone in the vicinity is rooting for the "wrong" team, but they'll never know, and tomorrow, when we step out after a sure win by the Bengals, it will be business as usual. We may utter "too bad 'bout those Cowboys, huh?", but secretly we shall whisper to each other...................WHO DEY?

Sorry about the game. It was a good one! At least it was semi-close. Our "home team," the KC Chiefs were SHUT OUT today. So bad. Soooo bad.
