The pre-Thanksgiving You-are-not-playing-wii-'til-you-finish-making-your-turkey Post

I found this cute little turkey idea from an on-line website. You use toilet paper rolls for the body and, ironically enough, I have been collecting toilet paper rolls for about 2 years and I just knew they were going to come in handy someday. Finally. So, we break out the toilet paper roll stash, the construction paper, markers, scissors, glue, etc. and set to work. This is going to be fun. We don't anymore get started on the coloring step when Nelson informs me that this is "the most boring thing ever". What? "No way, this is fun. Kids that go to school love this project," I say, always referring to the cool things that go on at school, as if that is going to help inspire some sort of excitement in them. Once again, here I am trying to make a fun little tradition out of the holidays, and fighting tooth and nail to get mutual enjoyment out of these ridiculous toilet paper roll turkeys. I thought 4-year-olds were supposed to love this kind of thing... So, please enjoy our little turkeys made from toilet paper rolls, they are just not getting the appreciation I think they deserve.
Here's wishing you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving!
And, stay tuned for more Harshbarger tradition coming soon...

I laughed OUT LOUD at Nelson's comment. That sounds just like something Caeden would say to me. You are hilarious - hoarding t.p. rolls like a good, crafty Momma does.

Happy Thanksgiving, Paula! I am so thankful for our renewed friendship. Have a wonderful holiday with your family.
