Reproductions of the Pinta and the Santa Maria are located at the museum, hence the guy dressed in period piece. While we were unable to listen to the guided tour, it was amazing to check out these ships. They are not as big as I had imagined them to be, though still quite large. After viewing the ships we went back inside to the kids area where the boys ran wild and did some hands-on activities. Here are the pics from this weekend's excursion...

Children's Warf
We finally checked out a local museum that we had been meaning to visit for sometime. When we walked in the building, there were children running wild throughout the entire place. In-and-out of aisles with ancient artifacts, glass display cases, intricate costumes, framed art that dates back more than 300 years, all the while a little guy in garb reminiscent of Christopher Columbus is barking out the next place for the children to run to. We finally figured out this was a scavenger hunt, and being one that loves scavenger hunts I was a little bummed that we didn't get an invitation. Lucky for us it is held every Saturday, unlucky for us, our free visitor passes are only good for the month of February. We just may have to splurge for this one.
