Down By the Bay

This morning we took the boys down to the bay for a little bike ride. They are getting really fast on their bikes and don't always stop when prompted. Nelson finally put on the brakes and when I asked him why he didn't stop sooner he said, "I didn't hear you until the 4th time you yelled." Really? It was a lovely morning and we decided to swing through the grocery store on our way home...Not so lovely....Imagine, church just letting out mixed with several hours prior to the Superbowl. Fun.
Here a few pics of the excursion and a little song we sang the whole way there. Tammy taught it to us when she visited last year. Plug in any rhyme you like....

Down by the bay
Where the watermelons grow
Back to my home
I dare not go
For if I do
My mother will say
"Did you ever see a bear
Combing his hair
Down by the bay?"

Down by the bay
Where the watermelons grow
Back to my home
I dare not go
For if I do
My mother will say
"Did you ever see a bee
With a sunburned knee
Down by the bay?"

Down by the bay
Where the watermelons grow
Back to my home
I dare not go
For if I do
My mother will say
"Did you ever see a moose
Kissing a goose
Down by the bay?"

Down by the bay
Where the watermelons grow
Back to my home
I dare not go
For if I do
My mother will say
"Did you ever see a whale
With a polka dot tail
Down by the bay?"

Your pictures are amazing, Paula!

And your storytelling ability is so good - don't ever stop blogging, okay?

"I didn't hear you until the 4th time ..." I told Wayne that lil' ditty immediately after I read it, and he is still laughing.
