Austin, Texas

By far the coolest city in Texas and well up on the list of national Harshbarger standards. This place is alive. Thriving with good food, good music, huge parks, loads of sunshine, and this weekend us!!

We met Tammy and Amir there for a quick weekend getaway. In our short 36 hour visit we visited a farmers market, checked out SoCo (South Congress Street, the coolest strip in town), ate delish pizza at Home Slice, played soccer in the park, and met up with friends at the Johnny Cash tribute bar Mean Eyed Cat and listened to our friend perform with Graham Wilkinson and the Underground Township.

We were in by midnight, up by 7:00, and home by 1:00 for our first soccer game of the spring season (and now in bed by 8:00 exhausted, go figure).

I like Austin too. I have a veterinarian cousin that lives in nearby Seguin. I used to peddle my silver there on the way back from Mexico. Sounds and looks like you all know how to enjoy a town.
