Long Update...

Haven't posted in a bit and it's not because I have lack of topics. So, here goes...

We have been doing a lot of this.. I mean literally every night. Clark was gone for a week prior to Father's Day weekend and the boys thought it would be the perfect Father's Day gift to give him by learning to ride their bikes.  So we practiced every night.. In the heat, the wind, the rain and by Friday when he returned home they were both riding.  Now they ask to go every evening after dinner which we usually oblige.  They still need to work on stopping and not crashing over and also getting going without a push, but they are totally rocking their bikes which we are thrilled about. And their dad was totally shocked when he assumed we were heading out for another lesson but low and behold they took off.. No lesson needed.

Father's Day we spent the afternoon out on the island.  Henry was in the midst of an ear infection and under strict instuctions not to go swimming so we opted for burgers, miniature golf and gelatos instead.

On a not so good note... My girl Kaya Bean has been in-and-out of the doctors office the last week.  She has what appears to be severe asthma or a lung infection. She is currently on 2 antibiotics and prednisone and oxycodone with minimal relief.  She has been such a loyal and sweet girl for the past 15 years; watching her deteriorate has not been easy on any of us.  When she gets up and slowly makes her way to her water bowl or to the door to be let outside the boys ask her, "Kaya, are you still with us?"

And, lastly, something we are watching..  Hurricane Alex (actually not technically a hurricane yet).  Already have hotel rooms booked just incase.

Oh, and one more thing.  When the grandparents were here last month it was not until they left that I realized that I hardly took any photos.  When I was uploading Father's Day pics I did find this one... I love it!

The checkers photo looks like a Norman Rockwell painting!
