Exploring the city

Get ready for a super long post...

We had an amazing weekend in the big city. So much to see, so much to explore. The second night there Nelson woke us in the middle of the night saying his legs hurt. Mine did too. They actually still do. It's amazing how much walking you do in the city. The boys were such troopers and for the most part walked every step we did. They had to be carried off-and-on, but mostly did great. Nelson said his favorite thing about the city was the subway because he loves trains and because he could sleep. Henry's favorite was the place with all the lights... Times Square. Tammy and Amir suggested a late evening taxi ride through there on our way back up to the apartment. I think it was my favorite too.
Times Square in the evening.

Sibling dinner.
(Randy, sorry about the octopus thing. I am actually kind of regretting it too.)

Grandpa and the kids playing Go Fish.

Nelson modeling Amir's party hat.

Stephanie and Henry making bunnies.

Do you see it?

Savannah, the city girl.

Nelson! Wake up!! This is important...

On the water taxi.

FAO Schwartz guard.

Henry, Tammy, and Amir in front of FAO Schwartz.
The boys had $15 each for spending money. We took them to FAO Schwartz, the largest toy store in America (Tom Hanks plays the big piano in the movie Big), but it was so much and so overwhelming, they both left empty handed...

View from our apartment on the upper west side.

Waving a taxi... Their favorite thing to do. They would argue over who the taxi actually stopped for, not realizing that their dad was behind them waving too.

Getting on the subway. We rode the subway a lot... And, finally about had it figured out just in time to leave.

One of many blocks we walked...

So great Paula.. Looks just like i thought it would.. Just like "Apprentice".. I would love to go explore there sometime.. We had a nice weekend except for my flu bug... Our big excitement is Colter got a water table.. We set it up in kitchen. The floor is very clean now.. By the way, we know of a bulldog who just had puppies.. We're enquiring about them. Keep your fingers crossed.. Love, Marli

Great photos. Sounds like a fun trip. The boys are so cute. I love the "waiving a taxi" story. Priceless.

Oh, I'm so jealous! What a fun adventure! Was this for an extended family trip or a special occasion? Give your boys high fives from us!
