We knocked off a couple of must-do-before-leaving-Texas items. One was actually on my bucket list, or would be if I had a bucket list. And, it wasn't the waterpark, just so you know...
We spent the weekend in San Antonio... Actually Hill Country to be exact. On Saturday we took the boys to Schlitterbahn Waterpark. It is one of the largest waterparks in America and was actually rather overwhelming for 2 of us. The other 2 had a blast, went on as many rides as possible...The faster, scarrier, wetter the better. Henry and I enjoyed the wave pool, the kiddie water park land with small slides and water spouts and one really big/super fast straight slide. Nelson and his father are going to be King's Island buddies, I can tell, and H and I will likely be watching from a nice shady bench below. Fine by me!
The next day we drove through Hill Country's long and winding back roads listening to my iPod playlist created just for that specific moment. It was something I have long been wanting to do since moving down here. After lunch we found our way to Luckenbach. A special little place tucked into the massive trunks and arms of live oak trees. We wondered the town and listened to some lovely live music before heading for home.
On the way to Luckenbach we passed a bazillion little peach orchards. Finally had to stop and buy a bushel (is that what it's called?) and wonder threw the trees with our little planters.
Until next time...
